IN FOLLOWING my childhood dream of becoming a makeup artist i discovered a calling for self expression and storytelling on the human canvas. i hope the following examples of my personal works will demonstrate to you my love and dedication to my art and an appreciation for the directions i wish to advance in.

iN HER 32ND WEEK OF PREGNANCY LIZZIE'S AMNIOTIC SAC RUPTURED, A CONDITION CALLED PPROM - PRETERM PREMATURE RUPTURE OF MEMBRANES. UPON her release from hospital WE raced against the clock to CREATE A PIECE OF ABSTRACT ARTWORK to Celebrate HER JOURNEY INTO MOTHERHOOD, GIVE HER STRENGTH AND HELP HER FIND BEAUTY IN THE HARDSHIP. inspired by rupturing membranes and the ORGANIC formations around the womb, WE HOPED THE WORK MIGHT HELP BRING ATTENTION TO THIS LITTLE KNOWN CONDITION 3% OF ALL MOTHERS FACE AND CREATE A SPACE FOR LIZZIE TO VOICE HER EXPERIENCES.
on making the images public DOZENS OF WOMEN CAME FORWARD in solidarity, SHARING difficulties and complications for their own journeys into motherhood. lizzie's vulnerability and honesty opened a dialogue and a safe space for CATHARSIS AND CONNECTION , one i was very grateful and touched to have been a part of.

EXPLORING THE LONELINESS OF SUCH A STRANGE TIME AND THE DEEP LONGING FOR EMOTIONAL AND PHYSICAL INTIMACY.

UNABLE TO SUCCESSFULLY CAPTURE THE FALLING BLOSSOMS IN CAMERA I CHALLENGED MYSELF TO EXPLORE A NEW MEDIUM AND CREATE MY FIRST CINEMAGRAPH, THUS DISCOVERING A WHOLE NEW AVENUE FOR STORYTELLING - BRINGING MOVEMENT INTO STILL PHOTOGRAPHY. I wish to develop further down this route, learning after effects and then using ar to bring animations to life on the page allowing audiences to have an interactive experience with the work.

the second month of lockdown 2021 suddenly ENVELOPED me in a seemingly endless cocoon of soft, deep, unshakeable sadness.. my thoughts were INCOHERENT and clouded, echoes in the mist.

exhausted, staring at my paints, i resolved to visually express my state of mind, as i painted i started coming back to myself and by the time i was reviewing the photos i was LAUGHING out loud at how goddamn miserable i looked. that night taught me a valuable lesson in the catharsis of creating, allowed me to make sense of my feelings and wash them away - giving me an amazing tool to NAVIGATE my darker hours.

it was very, very difficult to allow myself to be vulnerable and share this image and its story as i suffer huge insecurities, but when i did so many friends and ACQUAINTANCES came out the woodwork offering love, Support and to my SURPRISE GRATITUDE.

i realised that in true vulnerability we open the door for honest connection - which is what art is all about.

i was terrified of clowns as a child. i bit one. hard. i wholeheartedly blame Stephen king.

catharsis from coulrophobia came unexpectedly, endless demands for clown makeups in my early career slowly transformed the fear into love and fascination, BRUSHSTROKE by brushstroke. as my favourite photographers COULDN'T bear to capture them it pushed me to experiment with photography and has been a huge part of my DEVELOPMENT into this field.

I'm enormously inspired by music and have found a creative freedom in working with musicians which i rarely find in other industries.
as covid ANNIHILATED my usual work i reached out to artist friends with the proposal of creating custom portraits and artwork to help them elevate their visual branding and allow me to develop my skills and confidence with photography.
these ENDEAVOURS have started to gain me COMMISSIONS from outside of my networks and are helping me move in a direction I'm very excited to embrace.
